Why Soy Candles are Better for your home, health & the economy!

Our homes are our havens, that safe, comfortable place we have in this big, crazy world. Ā Whether my home is perfectly in place or a little messy, whether I’m here by myself or getting ready for company to come over, one thing I want to be sure of is that is smells clean, fresh and pleasant.

I have a lot of allergies and am sensitiveĀ to certain scents. This makes it difficult to find room sprays, candles, wax melts andĀ potpourriĀ that doesn’t bother me. Ā I always try to purchase soy based candles andĀ potpourriĀ that are naturally scented.

If you are not familiar with soy candles, let me share a little information. Ā Soy wax burns clean and does not produce the black soot like regular wax candles too. Soy candles do let off a little smoke, but if they are truly 100% soy, it is barelyĀ noticeable.

Not all soy candles are made alike though, so you need to be sure the company you purchase them from actually uses 100% natural soy. They should have this listed on the candle or their website. Ā 100% soy candles burn longer and give off a stronger, longer lasting scent than the cheaper non-soy candles do. Ā You may pay a little more upfront for a quality soy candle, but it is going to last much longer, smell better and burn cleaner.Ā Another great thing about soy candles is that soy beans are grown and processed right here in the USA so when you purchase them you are supporting the farmers and the American economy!

I think my most favorite product I received to review was the potpourri though. Ā The smell was just right, not too strong or too light. Ā I used half of 1 of the 1/2 gallon bags in the hurricane candle holder you see in the picture. I thought this made the hurricane look so much prettier. (I am using a battery operated glowing candle in it for ambiance).

  • Any of the food based scents sound like they’d smell amazing! I’d be most interested in the Pumpkin Pie or Pineapple scents though cause who doesn’t like pumpkin pie & pineapple is one of my new favorite fruits! Would love to win this giveaway to give soy based candles a try!!

  • Love the variety of scents! I would like to try the Air Neutralizer(White), as I have yet to find an air neutralizer that actually eliminated unpleasant odors. Thanks!

  • I would love to try any of these scents, but would really like Cinnamon Apple, Caramel Apple,Dewberry or Kudzu. Any spicy or fruity scents work for me lol Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I would love to try the Primitive Pumpkin Harvest Scent and some type of potpourri because I like to put it into little net bags and put them into my dresser drawers to make everything smell wonderful!

  • This is wonderful because all of us at my house are sensitive to smells and have to use inhalers occasionally. Good tip to look for 100% soy on the products just like you have to check the juice content on juices. Love Christmas scents and to have them in Christmas shapes is an added bonus.

  • I would love to try the scents Grandma’s House, and Harvest – and I love the soy melts – you can use a little or a lot depending on the room size/device size.

  • Thanks for the information. I really have no idea what soy waxes are and how they are compared to other scented waxes. It is quite promising that is why I’ll try one soon. Hope they have something that doesn’t give a very strong scent because my nose is so sensitive.
