“Live as if you are going to die tomorrow, learn as if you are going to live forever.” -Anonymous
I have always loved learning. I think I could go to college or take continuing education classes for the rest of my life. They say knowledge equals power, but I think knowledge equals confidence and both can help you change the world. If you learn more, you can be more, do more, give more and help more people.
As an entrepreneur, continuing my education and keeping up with new technologies, software and the latest marketing techniques and social media networks is essential to my success. Being able to learn on my pace from home is very important as I am not able to take classes in person due to my busy schedule. This is just one of many reasons why I love lynda.com.
lynda.com is the premier site for online training for software and numerous business and personal development topics. The site offers tutorials and training classes for 3D + animation, web development, photography, design, business, home computing, video and much more. Â Watch the video below to learn more about lynda.com. (Click here to view it if you cannot see it below.)
“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” – Jim Rohn
Searching and signing up for classes is very easy. You can search by topic, software program name or author. You can view how long the class is and whether it is a beginner, intermediate or advanced level class. When you find a class you want to take, you simply add it to your “que”.  Then you can login at your convenience and watch the videos for the classes.
I am currently taking the class for Photoshop Elements 10. I have the program but have learned it through trial and error. The tutorial is helping me learn all the tricks, tools & shortcuts Photoshop offers. Â It will help me be able to complete design projects much faster as well as be able to offer more extensive custom graphics which will help me be able to increase my income too.
A few other classes I have in my que to take include: LinkedIn Essential Training, Project Management Fundamentals, Time Management Fundamentals and Improving SEO.
The tutorials range from 45 minutes to 15+ hours long. The longer tutorials are broken down into shorter videos so you can watch at your own pace over a week, month or more. lynda.com will track and show you which videos you have already viewed. There are also exercises for most of the videos to help you put what you learned into practice. Â You will also be able to go back and watch the tutorials over and over again later on if you need to.
I love that I can login and watch one or two tutorial videos every few days when I have a little extra time. Â I may not have time to watch the videos for 2 months but they will remain in my que for whenever I am ready for them.
You can choose a monthly subscription for as low as $25 for the basic and $37.50 for the premium. Â If there are numerous classes you want to take, I would suggest signing up for an annual subscription which start at $250 for the basic and $375 for the premium. All subscription plans will give you access to the 80,000+ online tutorials. The premium subscriptions also give you access to the exercise files. Â lynda.com also offers multi-user subscriptions for groups of 5 or more for custom training for schools and businesses.
lynda.com is great for everyone, computer / online novices and experts alike. Whether you are wanting to learn how to just be more savvy with your own personal computer programs or to learn and improve important skills for your business or a future career, lynda.com can help you reach your personal and professional goals. The site and tutorials are easy to navigate, convenient to learn from at your own pace and offer thorough training on over 80,000 topics.
I encourage you to visit lynda.com and view all the tutorials to see what you can learn! Â You can also like lynda.com on Facebook and follow them on Twitter!
