Losing weight has always been a struggle for me.  I have learned though that losing weight and living healthy is a journey. It is a marathon and not just a sprint. It takes time to create new healthy eating and living habits. It takes trying new foods and learning new ways to cook and eat. It takes making a commitment to living healthier and taking better care of yourself.  There are going to be times that you fall off the wagon, mess up and hit plateaus.  The important thing is to keep going and not let those speed bumps and falling off track stop you.

What should you do when you fall off track on a healthy living or weight loss plan?

1. Don’t beat yourself up. Put that time & energy into thinking positive instead.

2. Don’t make excuses. Bottom line you made choices that caused you to fall off track. Excuses don’t burn calories.

3. Remember why you started this journey in the first place and re-commit to your goals.

4. Focus on finishing what you started, the marathon isn’t over yet!

5. Get off your butt and back to working out! Enough said.

Losing weight & getting healthy is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.  -Unknown

Nobody trips over mountains.  It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble.  Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.  ~Author Unknown

  • Totally hear you loud & clear on this! I am forever on a weight loss journey! Back in 2008 I started my weight loss journey…got to my goal weight in 2010 and have gained some back, and now I’m on that same journey again to get back to my goal weight. The journey really never ends..it just gets tweaked along the way. 🙂 At least for me!

    • Amber, thanks for commenting! Yes it is definitely a journey. You just have to focus on each day and try to make better choices today than you did yesterday.
