I am so excited to be heading to my first blogging conference tomorrow! I’ll be heading just an hour away to Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC for Reviewer’s Retreat 2012!  Usually I would say I’m leaving on a jet plane, but since this conference is so close I’ll be driving down in my pretty little Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible.

I have been to several conference venues for my Tupperware business so I sort of  know what to expect.  The best thing about going to any conference is the face time and networking. Oh, and the fun! Conferences are always a blast!  You get to see people you rarely see, meet people in person that you usually only get to connect with online and get lots of free products. It will definitely be a great girls trip & retreat with lots of play and a little work too.

I’ll be rooming with some great bloggers in a big ol’ suite at Great Wolf Lodge. I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting one of them in person – April Stephens from Krazy Clippers. She lives about an hour from me and is going to be riding down & back with me. One of my other roomies is Eleanor Evans from Bellesouth Blogs. She’s coming all the way from Arkansas.  April & Eleanor are both design clients of mine too!

My other roomies are Shanaka Brown from Mama Bee Does, Jerri from Mom~E~centric & Four Reasons Media and Lindsay Martin from Laughing Lindsay. I’ve known Shanaka from some of the networking groups for a while. She’s coming from VA and riding down with another blogger who I can’t wait to meet – Amee Cantagalla from Madame Deals. I have only known Jerri and Lindsay from chatting online over the past two months but I think all 6 of us are going to be great roomies and have a blast together!

I made some special little gifts for my roomies that I am excited to give them. I will post pictures and a tutorial later in the week. I can’t give the little surprise away yet!

I am also looking forward to meeting several other awesome blogging buddies I’ve been connecting with online for the past year. Several of them are also my design clients so I am really excited to meet them too! Meagan Paulin from Sunshine and Sippy Cups, Becky Fixel from Week99er & Divine on a Dime and Meredith Nichols from Suburban Coupon Mom are just a few! There are so many others I can’t wait to meet too!

I am definitely looking forward to learning more about blogging and connecting with companies and brands for future opportunities. One of the sessions I am most looking forward to is about taking your blog on the road (travel blogging). I love to travel and would thoroughly enjoy getting to travel and write about it (especially if the trip is free or mostly free)!

I am also really looking forward to getting away for a few days. The “retreat” part of is a big draw for me.  May was a really tough month, lots of craziness, so a few days off work and away from the daily grind will be a real treat for me!

Be sure to follow me on Twitter and follow along on all the fun with hashtag  #RevRet12 – my twitter is @ceoofmeinc. There will be all kinds of fun photo opps like a Kia Ride & Drive test drive, a Tailgating Party, a Pajama Party / Scavenger Hunt and lots more! Check back later in the week on CEO of Me for some posts about what I learned and pictures!
